The JDWC Team | Serena, Lead Coordinator

Today, we’re excited to officially introduce you to our newest Lead Coordinator, Serena!

Serena joined our team at the beginning of 2023 and has been an incredible asset to JDWC ever since! Not only does she work 1-1 with brides, but she also manages and oversees many of our behind the scenes operations tasks alongside myself!

Serena embodies a perpetual sense of joy, approaching every task with enthusiasm and a determination to make things happen. She always has a positive attitude, and I have no doubt that her brides will find comfort and joy in working with her, just as we do.

Enjoy learning more about Serena through this Q+A and I can’t wait to see all that’s to come!

Xo,
Jess

SERENA BRUNS | LEAD COORDINATOR

Jessica Dum Wedding Coordination - Lead Wedding Coordinator, Serena

Tell us a little bit about you: I am originally from Chicago and moved to Indianapolis in 2016 to attend Butler University. While at school, I fell in love with the area and never left! I am now married to my husband, Nathan, and we live in the Broad Ripple area. In addition to wedding coordination, I love all things organization, home décor, and local coffee.

What’s your favorite way to spend a Saturday when you’re not working a wedding? When I’m not at a wedding, you can find me at a farmers market or reading a book on my front porch! I also love hosting friends, planning game nights, and sharing meals with them at our home!

Jessica Dum Wedding Coordination - Lead Wedding Coordinator, Serena

You’re a Lead Coordinator for JDWC – what do you love most about working with brides and executing their wedding day? There is nothing quite like a wedding day! Rarely is there another time when all your favorite people gather in one room to celebrate you and your love. I love working with couples to create space for them to feel calm and excited about their day rather than stressed and overwhelmed. I would be honored to help make your vision come to life!

If you had one piece of advice for couples planning their wedding, what would it be? Stay true to you! Decide on a few elements of your day that are the most important to the two of you as a couple, and spend your money on that. Don’t feel like you need to have everything you see online.

If you had one piece of advice for couples on their wedding day, what would it be? As cheesy as this sounds, hire a Wedding Coordinator! This truly allows you, your family, and your close friends to be fully present on the day of. After many months of planning and prep work you’ve done, you want to rest assured everything you’ve dreamed up in your head falls into place exactly as you imagined it.

Tell us what your favorite wedding trend is right now: My favorite wedding trend right now is not shying away from color! Don’t get me wrong, neutrals will always be classic and timeless, but how fun it is to shower your day in color if that’s what sparks your joy!

Your top 3 places to shop: Madewell, Anthropologie, and Fresh Thyme

What’s your go-to coffee order? Plain iced latte, year-round (ideally made with local espresso)
