Biltwell Event Center Indianapolis Wedding | Mackenzie + Ross

One of the hardest parts about the height of the pandemic was not spending time with the ones we love the most. Like so many, our couples had to postpone their celebrations for later dates — and sometimes they had to postpone more than once. One of the couples who continued to wait to celebrate, yet never wavered on their hope, graciousness, or kindness, was Mackenzie and Ross. These two postponed their wedding day twice, so we were so thrilled to witness them finally become Mr. and Mrs. at the Biltwell Event Center in downtown Indianapolis, with photos by Alexis Nicole Photography to boot.

Because Mackenzie + Ross’ celebration was delayed, we knew their day would be special. But none of us were quite prepared for all of the ways we would fall in love with their celebration. Mackenzie and Ross each spent their wedding mornings getting ready with their bridesmaids, groomsmen, and family members. Then portraits got underway. And we have to pause right there. These two got together an epic group for their wedding party. Everyone’s joy simply overflowed for Mackenzie and Ross, and we simply wanted to match everyone’s energy! It was so wonderful to see.

Mackenzie walked down the aisle at the Biltwell Event Center with her dad where they met Ross at the top. The couple’s close family friend was also at the ready to serve as their officiant. If you have the opportunity to be married by someone who knows your love inside and out, please jump at the chance. M and R’s ceremony was beautiful as a result of this, and we also loved the strings that played during all of the most important moments.

Post vows, guests enjoyed cocktail hour at the venue while Mackenzie + Ross captured couple’s portraits. Then it was time for the reception space reveal. Everyone got a taste of what was to come during the ceremony, thanks to Woven Blooms’ gorgeous florals that combined ranunculus, roses, and more in shades of ivory, coral, soft blush, and lavender. And the blooms only continued during dinner and dancing! A candle and flower-adorned long table served as the head table, and the look was effortlessly romantic. Then guest tables had alternating floral arrangements and candelabras, which worked so well with the industrial-meets-modern space.

In between courses created by Hoaglin Fine Catering, Mackenzie and Ross listened to some of the best speeches we’ve ever heard. We have to offer a special mention to the best man — his speech was incredible! Once the formalities were complete, everyone joined together on the dancefloor to celebrate the couple’s wedding day that was quite literally years in the making.

Mackenzie + Ross, we absolutely adored working with you. We cannot highlight your kindness through it all enough, and we are still so happy you finally got to experience the wedding day you had both long dreamed about. Congratulations!
