The venue where you choose to celebrate your wedding day typically holds so much meaning. You will always think back on it as the place where you recited your vows and celebrated with your guests (if the same place acts as both your ceremony and reception spaces), and you will likely want to revisit the location just to be in the same place where so many of your favorite memories unfolded.

Taylor + Shawn were married in June at a private residence that is simply best described as stunningly gorgeous. The home has a French provincial style with some of the lushest gardens we’ve ever laid eyes on, a glistening pool, and the perfect rolling space for a tent. Because it was such a lovely location, Taylor got ready inside, and then she and Shawn welcomed their guests to the home for all of their festivities.

Throughout the morning, Taylor spent time with her sweet bridesmaids. The group popped champagne in the backyard and got their hair and makeup done inside before it was time to debut their mismatched pink looks, which we loved! Taylor + Shawn also chose to see each other for a first look prior to their ceremony, which took place in the backyard with all of its incredible greenery (and blooms). Portraits got underway next in front of the towering ceremony arch, which perfectly framed the home’s doors, and we love all of the moments Foreground Design Studio captured here!

Once guests had arrived on site, they were greeted with Taylor + Shawn’s outdoor ceremony. Chairs lined either side of the aisle, and everyone had a beautiful view of the floral arch. Before they recited their vows, Taylor walked down the aisle carrying a neutral ivory bouquet and met Shawn at the top where he was waiting for her. Between the couple, their guests, and the setting, this portion of the day was fabulous!

Once Taylor + Shawn were officially married, guests enjoyed cocktails while the final preparations were made underneath the tent in the backyard. Meg Catherine Flowers  did a fantastic job of creating a garden-like setting underneath the tent with lush arrangements of hydrangeas, roses, and more in an ivory, mauve, and blush color palette with a few pops of coral. Acrylic table numbers completed the look for the guest tables, while Taylor and Shawn’s sweetheart table was lined with a romantic eucalyptus garland.

Everyone dined on a menu created by The Fearless Cook and listened to speeches by Taylor + Shawn’s loved ones. Then it was time to dance! The open-air pool house was transformed into a stage for the Hubie Ashcraft Band, and it served as such a fun setting throughout the night. Overall, every single moment and detail could not have been more special or stunning.

We absolutely loved finally meeting Taylor + Shawn on their wedding day (we planned over the phone and via FaceTime because they live in Chicago!), and the incredible setting is one we won’t soon forget!
