How is it that 2016 is already coming to an end? We are truly blessed to have worked with some of the most genuine couples this year and are looking forward to what lies ahead for this growing business in 2017! We have some BIG goals in place and are anxious to get a jump start at the first of the year…however in the meantime, I wanted to share some exciting accomplishments, changes and growth we experienced in 2016!
1. WE LAUNCHED OUR NEW WEBSITE:
In March, we celebrated JDWC’s 4th birthday by launching a new website with a fresh new look and feel! Our goal was to create a bright, clean and informative place for brides to learn more about our services and get a better understanding for our personalized client experience!
2. WE STARTED A BLOG:
Talk about an accomplishment!! The JDWC blog was a long time in the making, and something I had wanted to do for awhile now. I wanted to create a space not only to showcase some of the gorgeous weddings we get to be a part of, but also as an avenue to educate brides throughout the wedding planning process and offer advice and inspiration to other small business owners along the way! It’s still a work in progress, but I am so proud of what it’s already become and am excited to continue blogging in 2017!

3. I ATTENDED MY FIRST BUSINESS CONFERENCE:
Another big goal for 2016 was to attend a conference geared towards Creative Entrepreneurs and in March, I did just that! I flew to Annapolis, MD to attend the Creative at Heart Conference, where I was able to step away from the day-to-day of business ownership and shift my focus on growing my business, connecting with fellow business owners from across the country, soak in as much knowledge as I possibly could from the incredible lineup of speakers, and remember the why behind the start of JDWC!

4. WE WERE FEATURED IN SEVERAL PUBLICATIONS:
While our services are not necessarily a tangible item, it’s always an honor to see your hard work and involvement in a client’s wedding shared by local and national publications! A few of my favorites from the year were:
-
- Amanda + Rob’s spring wedding at the Ritz Charles featured on The Black Tie Bride
- Kaitlin + Jake’s wedding at Mustard Seed Gardens featured on Borrowed & Blue
- Hollie + Drew’s family farm wedding featured on Lea-Ann Belter Bridal’s blog
- Our Kate Spade-Inspired Styled Shoot featured in print for WeddingDay Magazine

5. WE RECEIVED 2 INDUSTRY AWARDS:
Another huge honor is to be recognized in your industry for the hard work and dedication to your clients. We pride ourselves in the personalized experience and attention to detail we place on each individual client we get to work with – and to be recognized for that is extremely humbling!
-
- JDWC was named Indy A-List’s Best Wedding Planner
- We received a 2016 WeddingWire Couples Choice Award

6. THE JDWC TEAM GREW:
In January 2016, we brought on another Associate Coordinator, Megan, making us a team of 3! Megan quickly became a huge asset to the #JDWCteam and while she has recently relocated to Nashville, TN with her husband Andrew, we’re thrilled to begin working with some southern brides here in the near future! We also recently announced that we were looking for another Associate to join our team in Indianapolis and are excited to share more about that in the New Year!

Overall, 2016 has been one of the best years yet and I’m excited to see what 2017 has in store for JDWC! We hope you’ll continue to follow along on our journey and wish you all the best in the year ahead.
Xo,
Jess
