We’re always so eager to share the weddings we execute, but what you can’t quite see in the photos is the experience that happens behind the scenes. Even though we count down the days until our couples can finally enjoy their celebrations, we also love going through the process of designing their wedding days with them. The journey makes seeing all of the details finally coming together on their wedding day such a joy!
When Kristen + Tom shared that they were planning to tie the knot in June at Laurel Hall, we were immediately excited. It’s one of our favorite venues to visit because it’s classic and timeless with a beautiful garden feel that’s experienced best during the spring, the summer, and the fall. Plus, we love that it’s perfect for both ceremonies and receptions. That fact alone always makes the design a little more cohesive and the logistics a little easier!
Kristen + Tom spent their wedding mornings getting ready with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. We loved watching Stefanie and Brock from SB Childs Photography style all of Kristen’s details together because she had a pearl veil that paired gorgeously with the couple’s stationery suite and jewelry. Then just before the ceremony, Kristen captured a fun first look with her bridesmaids—and we love how overjoyed she is in these photos!
One of K + T’s and greatest hopes was to recite their vows during an outdoor ceremony at Laurel Hall. Tom envisioned standing at the top of the aisle to watch Kristen walk down, and they both wanted to share their first moments as a married pair under a floral arch. The only thing that could have gotten in their way was loud cicadas, but we’re happy to report the summer insects were on their best behavior! 🙂 Kristen + Tom got to experience everything on their ceremony wish list (and more).
While guests enjoyed cocktail hour, Kristen + Tom slipped away together to capture couple’s portraits throughout the grounds of Laurel Hall. There was more beauty around every corner, and the light and weather were absolutely perfect. So, it’s safe to say Stefanie and Brock didn’t have any trouble getting photos of these two! We also have to point out Tom: He’s simply beaming in every single photo, which is so sweet to see.
After cocktails, it was time to welcome everyone inside the ballroom for K + T’s reception. This is when their design vision was fully on display! We absolutely love how the lush florals and soft greens by Isibeal Studio paired with Kristen + Tom’s tables. The low centerpiece designs meant everyone was able to see across the tables. Plus, the color palette looked so elegant in the space. And, we would be remiss if we didn’t highlight the beautiful floral garland placed atop the fireplace. It was the best kind of finishing touch, and we think the guests (and Kristen and Tom) agreed!
A wedding is never complete without a great meal, and this sweet pair’s menu was created by the amazing team at A Cut Above Catering. Dancing happened in the solarium, which is everyone’s favorite spot: The floor is checkered, there are plenty of windows that look out onto the grounds, and it has a feel that’s straight out of a fairytale.
From the couple to their design, the venue to the team who created it all, we could go on and on about Kristen + Tom’s wedding day. It was one we loved from start to finish, and one we’re all too happy to look back on and share with you!
