Although last year was filled with many moments we all hope to never relive again, there were also equally as many bright spots to keep us smiling and moving forward. For our team, one of the bright spots will forever be our couples. No matter the season, our brides, grooms, and their families and friends never fail to make us smile — they’re prepping to celebrate after all! And, it’s always a sweet season to reunite with families we adore, so we were especially delighted to execute Hailey + Adam’s downtown Indianapolis wedding day.
Like countless other 2020 couples, Hailey + Adam’s plans for their wedding day changed and changed again (and then again). But, even as they planned and re-planned their celebration, none of us ever lost hope that it would be worth it. Plus, spending extra time with Hailey and her sweet mom, Dawn, was a definite bonus! These ladies are such a dream duo. In the end, Hailey + Adam were able to celebrate in September at the Indianapolis Central Library. And, it was beyond perfect.
As we were diving into Hailey + Adam’s gallery of wedding photos, the very first one we spotted was of Hailey’s studded wedding day shoes. Her style and details definitely started the day off right! Danielle Harris Photography paired her shoes with H+A’s wedding invitation suite and a few florals from Gillespie Florists to tell a complete story. All of this happened while Hailey and her bridesmaids were prepping for the day and getting their hair and makeup done.
Just before the ceremony, Hailey shared a wonderful first look with her dad. Then it was off to St. John the Evangelist for Hailey and Adam’s much anticipated wedding ceremony! The light that streamed through the stunning stained glass windows inside the church was just right, and Hailey, Adam, and their wedding party looked gorgeous and so overjoyed throughout.
Post vows, H+A gathered with their families and friends to capture wedding day portraits. Just like the lighting inside St. John, the lighting outside was equally as beautiful. I also loved the colors Hailey chose for her bridesmaids’ dresses. The soft periwinkle was perfect for an early fall wedding!
Now that the couple was finally an officially married duo, it was time to celebrate at the Central Library in downtown Indianapolis. We have to note how much we love this venue. The soaring ceilings, modern architecture, and nods toward literature and reading are incredible in this space — it’s perfect for all celebrations.
To highlight the venue even more, H+A (and Hailey’s mom!) chose to add classic, romantic details. Tables were adorned with tall floral centerpieces by Gillespie Florists, and we especially loved the modern floral piece that sat atop the head table. We would also be remiss if we didn’t mention the balloons that were added to the guest table centerpieces. They were modern and fun, and they reminded our team of old fashioned lampposts! Lastly, the absolute highlight of the design were the specialty linens — floral napkins awaited guests at their seats, and a floral tablecloth allowed the cake table to truly shine.
After guests had admired the details, it was time for everyone to dine, dance, and enjoy. Hailey + Adam’s menu was prepared by Ritz Charles Catering, and a special late night treat arrived from Burger King (with “The King” himself!). H+A shared dances together and with their parents, and we loved when the couple’s guests joined them on the dance floor. Hailey + Adam may have sized down their wedding to be an intimate family affair, but the ones they love the most made sure to surround them with incredible energy.
As Hailey + Adam’s family and friends gave them one final sendoff with LED balloons (we can’t wait to do this again!), we felt so honored to have been able to execute and celebrate their engagement season with them. Even during the hardest of times, there’s still so much joy to be found.
