Getting to know our brides, grooms, and their families is one of the best parts about wedding planning. We love learning how our couples first met, what they love to do with their families, and how they hope their wedding day will feel. Even though we know our couples well by the time their wedding days arrive, we almost always know our brides just a bit better than our grooms. But that was not the case for Faith + Austin’s wedding day—we got to plan equally with both!
Austin is one of the sweetest grooms we’ve ever worked with. He and Faith were equally invested in curating the best team of vendors for their wedding day, and they made each and every decision together. We absolutely loved that Austin was so involved and it was wonderful to see the relationship these two kind souls share on display so often.
Faith + Austin chose to celebrate their wedding day in downtown Indianapolis. They wanted to fully embrace the city, so they spent their mornings getting ready at the Omni Severin Hotel and Union Station, respectively. The Omni, in particular, is a beautiful hotel in a wonderful location that made exploring the city for portraits very easy! To kick off their portrait session, Faith + Austin shared a first look just outside of the hotel. Not only did Faith reveal her beautiful dress to her dapper groom, but Austin had a surprise too—he had custom designed his jacket liner to include photos of them from their relationship! Faith was shocked, and we loved watching this moment unfold.
Once guests arrived (and Faith + Austin were able to take a quick peek inside), it was time for their wedding ceremony to get underway. They chose to get married at Indiana State Capitol Building, and the soaring ceilings truly set the tone for an elegant wedding day. Plus, we absolutely loved the incredible arrangements Isibeal Studio used to line the aisle, which paired beautifully with the fabulous floral ceremony arch. After they were officially announced as married, guests lined the stairs outside for a mini wedding exit to celebrate Faith and Austin. It was wonderful timing because the lighting was beautiful, and everyone was excited.
Just like the ceremony space, the ballroom at Crowne Plaza Union Station was also designed to embrace soft elegance. Isibeal Studio placed a mix of high and low centerpieces on all of the tables. Each one included a beautiful blush and ivory color palette with plenty of peonies, roses, and hydrangeas tucked inside. Because the ceremony arch was far too stunning to just use once, it was repurposed to serve as a frame around Faith + Austin’s settings at their head table. The blooms, the couple’s gorgeous cake (complete with even more flowers!) by Kim’s Kakery, and the beautiful gold tones that matched the overall space at Union Station perfectly created the ultimate wedding day look.
Throughout the reception, guests dined on a menu created by the Union Station team and listened to speeches by Faith + Austin’s loved ones. Then it was time for the first dance, parent dances, and plenty of time with everyone on the dance floor! DJ Unique knows how to keep the energy high for the entire night, and everyone was eager to take part.
Faith + Austin, from the time we spent carefully planning your wedding day until the last song of the night played (and all of the photos Ivan and Louise captured in between), we absolutely loved working with you. You both are two of the kindest people, and we still feel so grateful that you asked us to help you to ensure your day felt like an absolute dream!
