An industrial wedding at Canal 337 | Makaela + Nathan

As wedding coordinators, we’re often asked to share how couples can best personalize their wedding days. But, there isn’t one way to answer this question because there isn’t just one way to share the story of your relationship with your guests. Instead, we always encourage couples to add details that feel right to them. And this was definitely on display throughout Makaela + Nathan’s industrial wedding soiree at Canal 337 in downtown Indianapolis.

We had the great pleasure of coordinating Makaela + Nathan’s wedding day alongside Makaela’s mom. She was so sweetly devoted to this pair, and her creativity and thoughtfulness were on display throughout the planning process together. Not only did she zip Makaela into her dress once she was ready on her wedding day, but she also found a beautiful way to honor the journey she has been on with her daughter.

Makaela + Nathan wanted their wedding day to incorporate a mixture of industrial and garden-inspired design, and Canal 337 offered them a blank slate in which to paint the picture they had envisioned. Makaela and her bridesmaids got ready onsite (a wonderful option to choose when it’s presented to you!) before she walked down the aisle. We loved how their ceremony aisle was lined on either side with florals, and the industrial lighting in the space added a beautiful dose of modernity.

The team at Canal 337 transformed Makaela + Nathan’s ceremony into their reception during the newly married pair’s cocktail hour. One of a Kind Events gorgeously mixed high and low loosely draped florals, which featured ivory blooms mixed with pops of purple. The look added a wonderful amount of texture to the space, and the glass chargers and water goblets added to the luxurious feel. Plus, the candles lining the tables provided just the right amount of warmth!

Throughout the night, guests took a moment to admire the beautiful display that Makaela’s mom so thoughtfully created. She framed the dress Makaela wore when she came home from the hospital, and placed the sentimental piece next to a bridal portrait of M along with an exact mini replica of Makaela’s wedding dress and ivory bouquet. It was incredible and such a special surprise for Makaela on the day of!

Makaela + Nathan, we loved coordinating your beautifully personalized wedding day, and we cannot wait to see the ways in which you will add to your story together!
