A Central Library Wedding | Katherine + Andrew | Jessica Dum Wedding Coordination

Every time we think of Katharine + Andrew, fate always comes to mind. These two met by chance, thanks to an introduction made through mutual friends, and their love story began in Philadelphia. The City of Brotherly Love would continue to act as their backdrop throughout their relationship, including their engagement session, when fate intervened once more.

Katharine + Andrew were enjoying a day spent wandering through the bustling city when a band reminiscent of a New Orleans Second Line happened to surround them during their session. The moment was incredible, and it would only foreshadow even more fateful moments to come throughout their wedding planning journey and celebratory wedding day. Through a single photo (scroll the end to see!), we felt we had learned nearly everything we would need to know about these two – they’re as thoughtful as they are fun – but, our team was in for even more surprises.

Although Philadelphia served as their relationship’s backdrop, Katharine + Andrew ultimately decided to return to Indianapolis for their wedding day. They loved the modern feel of the Indianapolis Public Library, and together with their team of wedding professionals, they created a plan to transform the space into one filled with meaningful details and beautiful design.

Greenery and candles by The Wedding Lady lined the steps welcoming guests to Central Library for Katharine + Andrew’s ceremony, and Katharine’s simple, sleek, and chic sweetheart wedding dress from The Wedding Studio matched the aesthetic of their day beautifully. While one of Andrew’s family friends presided over the ceremony, they each recited their own vows that felt completely true to the story they were already writing together.

Their reception in the atrium of Central Library showcased even more meaningful moments as the father of the bride welcomed guests and then invited the father of the groom to join him. Together, they offered life and marital advice to their children in a way that was completely sincere with just the right amount of humor. We all agreed Wayne and Shane should go on tour together; it was fantastic!

We also would be remiss if we didn’t highlight Katharine and Wayne’s father-daughter dance. Wayne had danced to Paul Simon’s “Father Daughter” at Katharine’s sister’s wedding, and Katharine and Wayne brought the song back for their dance together! However, instead of solely dancing together for the entirety of the song, they invited Katharine’s mom and sister onto the dance floor where the four of them shared a family dance.
