5 Unexpected (and Often Forgotten) Places to Incorporate Flowers

When it comes to weddings, there’s just something about those small details that add that special touch to your big day. We love when our couples dream up ways that make their wedding stand out, so we thought we’d share with you some unexpected (and often forgotten) places to add florals to get your creative juices flowing!

Flowers sure have a way of making a room pop, but they don’t have to just be for the tablescapes. Take a look at some unexpected ways you can incorporate florals into your wedding below and we hope this helps give you the extra boost of creative inspiration to make your wedding “wow” your guests!

01. Welcome sign

Consider welcoming guests to your ceremony and/or reception with a beautiful printed or hand lettered sign, adorned with fresh blooms or greenery. This sweet, yet simple addition creates the perfect touch as your closest friends and family are welcomed into the biggest day of your life!

02. Gift or guestbook table

Our couples often ask us if they really need to have a gift table nowadays. The answer? It honestly depends. Sometimes, guests will bring gifts while other times we see them taking advantage of the online shipping through a couple’s wedding registry. Either way, it’s better safe than sorry, so we always recommend having a table of some sort just in case. Want to add a little extra detail to the table so it doesn’t feel empty? You can go as simple as placing a small floral or bridesmaid bouquet alongside your card box and a sign. Or you can get creative and have your florist replicate other reception floral and decor details atop an antique desk or sideboard.

03. The bar

Do you have specialty drink signage for your bar? Or maybe just want to add some flare to the bar itself? Draping greenery or adding some florals here is a fun way to make the area pop! This is always one of the most visited spots of the reception space, so it’s great to make it stand out with this added (yet unexpected) detail.

04. The cake or dessert table

Add some extra elegance to your classic white wedding cake by including florals on (or around) your yummy dessert-of-choice. It doesn’t take much to add this extra touch and it will be a great addition to make sure your cake looks as good as it tastes!

05. The restrooms

We bet you weren’t expecting this one! While this might be the most unexpected of the bunch, it’s one of our favorite additions when thinking of places to incorporate florals. This simple addition lets guests know you really thought of every last detail to make this experience memorable for everyone. Simple bud vases and a few votive candles on the restroom counters are sometimes all you need to tie the overall feel of your day together!

However you decide to incorporate floral design into your special day, we hope this was helpful in sparking some ideas!
